A mixed bag of means of production, knowledge, imaginaries, traditions and rites, bullfighting festivities have been one of the mostconfusing, unstable and contentious topics in Spanish culture for thepast fifty years.BOS TAURUS is a visual and conceptual essay on themost popular and participative aspect of these festivities, writtenbased on the contradictions created by humans in their relationshipwith useful animals. The work proposes a re-reading of the popularbullfighting subculture in the light of photography, history, economy, and the authors experiences. Its purpose is not to create a polemicbut to highlight the uniqueness and feasibility of these events at the most crucial moment in its history.
